More large cruise ships are expected to come in the next months that will boost further the tourism industry of Puerto Princesa City.
Aileen Cynthia Amurao, City Tourism Officer said that the City Government is currently preparing the city port to be able to accommodate the big cruise ships that will bring in more tourists.
Recently, the city was visited by tourists on board one of the largest cruise ships in the world, the Legend of the Sea, It anchored at the city port for nine hours and then proceeded to the town of Coron.
On board Legend of the Sea are around 1,500 tourists from Europe.
A maiden voyage to Puerto Princesa City of a Japanese cruise ships is also expected this year, according to Amurao.
“When it comes to cruise-tourism, I can say that Puerto Princesa is the first destination. The cruise ships coming to the city are top of the line. When they are in the Philippines, Palawan is their first choice” Amurao said.
